OC Profile: Shark Loan

Name: Shark Loan

Height: Six feet

Weight/Build: Loan has a medium build to him, being built like someone who engages in moderate daily exercise, but not constantly so. He has some muscles in his arms and upper body, but his lower torso and legs are slimmer, giving him a very light upside down pyramid look. His palms, but the fingers resemble sausages.

Skin Color: Loan’s skin has a creamy texture to it, being somewhat of a whitish-yellow, but to a very mild degree. It is free of any blemishes and pock marks.

Facial Features: Loan’s face has some wrinkles and lines on it, giving his pill shaped head a sagging, slightly sunken in look, particularly in the cheek region, but he does not like quite old. His lips are small, and his nose is shaped like a cherry tomato.

Eyes: Loan’s eyes are colored shamrock green, always twinkling with a cunning glee. At least until he gets sent to jail in which case they become dark with dismay.

Hair: Loan has almost brown hair that he ties back in a neat little ponytail, the part that sticks out being straight and well kept. The front of his hair is neatly combed back away from his forehead, while he has thick sideburns on the side of his face, giving his face a mildly mangy look.

Attire: As his name would imply, Loan wears a finely tailored sharkskin suit and leather shoes, along with a Hugo Boss tie and Ralph Lauren’s suit. On his head is a gray fedora hat.

Personality: Loan is a greedy extortionist in every sense of the word, always stealing things from around the world for Carmen Sandiego in the hopes that he can set up protection rackets on what he steals or turn them into casinos so he can skim the profits, among other schemes. He has a deep level of respect for Carmen, sometimes calling her Capo de Tutti Cap, or Boss of Bosses.

Bio: Shark Loan got his start at elementary school charging other kids protection for their lunches. If they didn’t pay, he would dump milk on their food. As he grew older, he would set up protection rackets for everything, ranging from entrance to the science lab on the condition he wouldn’t create explosions with chemicals, to threatening to destroy the cheerleader’s pompoms! When he became an adult, he turned to flat out thievery, and he still wasn’t satisfied. This ruthlessness caught the eye of crime queen Carmen Sandiego, and she recruited him into V.I.L.E.

CHALLENGE

Shark Loan has stolen the Jing Wu Athletic Association with the intention of turning it into a casino for his boss, Carmen Sandiego. The first one to identify where he’s taken the school through the hints in this phone tap will receive a llama badge from me!

Shark Loan: Carmen, lugging this school around is killing me! Can’t I stop for a break somewhere?

Carmen Sandiego: Take Jing Wu to a city on the coast of Southern Italy. It’s the third largest municipality in Italy, after Rome and Milan.

Shark Loan: Yeah, I know what place you mean. But doesn’t this place have a problem with mob violence? Even I’m a little scared of it.

Carmen Sandiego: Actually, the government and the people are doing everything they can to deal with the criminals in this city. Also, there is a famous Cathedral where the Patron Saint Janaurius is honored every September 19th. You should stop by if you want to blend in.

Shark Loan: I dunno, boss, I’m a man of little faith. What about food, though? I’m kinda hungry.

Carmen Sandiego: If you’re hungry, try ordering a pizza at one of the restaurants. Not only is the pizza here completely different from American styled pizza, but it’s also where it originated in the first place.

Shark Loan: Does it come with anchovies? I won’t eat any pizza that doesn’t have anchovies!
